Some Thoughts: It was great to visit Yards Creek again, after so many years and to meet with old friends. Thanks to everyone who worked to make this happen. The place hasn't changed very much. Definitely showed signs of wanting to be used again as a summer camp and to be loved again.

I was impressed by how many tall trees had been blown over, laying on their sides with their roots exposed.

The grass and the reeds down by the waterfront are almost as tall as I am. A couple of buildings are crying for a coat of fresh paint. I walked around the camp and did not get lost.

This was a wonderful place to spend a week with the scouts. No radio, no TV, no papers, no boss. Sitting around the campfire, late at night, after the kids were asleep was so good. The very best time was on Saturday, after the kids had left. You could sit in the mess hall, drink your coffee and just think. (jos)
